We are back!
I know it has been a little while since you have heard from us at Baileyblog. Good news is we are still here! It has been such a busy season —but I am hearing the same from many of you. Most of us are feeling understandably overwhelmed lately. So much going on abroad and at home. May I encourage you to take some time for yourself and your families when you can. Stay hopeful even when it seems very hard to do so.
In the meantime, if you are in Philadelphia or plan to be on October 25, you are invited to my latest talk at Christ Church. This is the church where several generations of the Butler family are buried. Yes, the very Butlers profiled in my book, The Weeping Time. Pierce Mease Butler, you may recall, was the Georgia slaveowner who put the 400+ slaves on the auction block in the incident they called “The Weeping Time,” the largest slave auction in American history.
