Most
recently in March of this year, I was invited to speak at the
United Nations on the occasion of the commemoration of the 150th
anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.
It was an honor to share insights from my research, writing and other
professional experiences with NGOs that are affiliated with the United
Nations.      It was
a privilege to be able to honor their lives and contributions of enslaved black Americans.
