I am headed south with The Weeping Time and am looking forward to it!  My first stop will be at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and then I will be helping to commemorate the 160th anniversary of The Weeping Time slave auction in Darien, Ga.  Descendants of families sold on the auction block and community members will be gathering at the  Butler Plantation estates on Saturday and Sunday to remember those whose lives were forever changed by this event.

I am honored to be reading from my book and sharing a little of the journey to publication with them.

For those of you in the area, I hope you will come out and join us in Darien, Ga.

Next week, we will post pictures and videos of the event.

Anne C. Bailey
